My beginnings in genealogy
Some thirty years ago, I started to make my family tree, using information already obtained by my father and one of my uncles. It became one of my favorite pastimes.
With the advent of the internet and sites like geneanet.org, I was able to extend my family tree all the way back to the 1600s. I was happy to share the scope of this work with my family.

But, unknowingly, I had made a mistake. I realized too late that, using mostly information published by others, I hadn’t taken the trouble to look at the documents myself, nor to have a copy in digital format (scan or photo). Errors crept into my tree, and now I have doubts about certain branches of my family…
A radical decision
A few years ago, I took the decision to methodically verify the information I already had and systematically search for – at the very least – the documents for people’s births, marriages and deaths, make a digital copy of them, and transcribe them so that I could use them properly.
As you can imagine, all this takes time and, above all, organization to know what is confirmed by the documents I’ve been able to obtain and what is not.
Fiat luxus!
To help me, I came up with the idea of creating a software tool, which I could do because I used to make software for a living.
This software can spot errors and give me a list of avenues to explore, to make my research more effective. It’s the fruit of this work that I’m now sharing with genealogy enthusiasts.
I think that for a genealogist, this software is really interesting; it’s a real assistant capable of helping genealogists by checking their entire genealogy in just a few minutes, directly from the information already entered in any genealogy software, so without jeopardizing the work and investment!
