How to update Genealogical Data Analysis?

Updates to Genealogical Data Analysis are published on this site to bring you new features (or improve existing ones) and correct defects or anomalies.

How can I find out about the changes contained in the updates?

The content of updates is shown in the application history.

How can I obtain updates?

There are two ways to obtain these updates:

  • Either use the search for a new update from within the application.
  • Or download the application again from this site.

Use the search for an update from within the application

Automatic check

Genealogical Data Analysis periodically and automatically checks whether an update has been released. If an update is available, Genealogical Data Analysis suggests you download it.

Note
The frequency of this check can be modified in the options. You can also choose in the options to download “beta-versions” released ahead of schedule

Manual verification

You can also search for an update using the “Search for an update” option in the “?” menu. If an update is available, Genealogical Data Analysis will suggest that you download it.

Download the application again from this site

You can download the application by logging into your account and consulting your purchase history.

Remarque
The version available on the site is always the latest version. Previous versions and “beta-versions” cannot be downloaded in this way.

Install the update

Once you’ve downloaded the update, install Genealogical Data Analysis again , keeping the same installation directory.

The installer will then update Genealogical Data Analysis, preserving your data and preferences. The database structure will be updated – if necessary – the first time the application is launched

Advice
Even if installing an update preserves your data, it is advisable to make regular backups of your data, especially before installing an update
