Modify criteria values

Genealogical Data - Fenêtre de recherche des ascendants - Critères
Genealogical Data – Ancestry search window – Criteria

The window displays criteria that influence the results displayed:

  • The period to be taken into account: indicated in number of years, this allows you to specify how many years before and after the search period extends. For example, if the value is 20 and you’re looking for people with the same name who were born in the same period, you’ll be shown people born between 20 years before and 20 years after the person.
  • Geographical distance: indicated in kilometers, this criterion enables you to narrow down the proposals to events that occurred at the most within the distance indicated, e.g. a person’s place of birth in relation to another person’s place of marriage.
  • Show searches without proposals: this option displays searches that have not led to the identification of any proposals. This option is deactivated by default to reduce the amount of information displayed in the results.
  • Show individuals without proposal: this option displays individuals for whom none of the selected searches identified a proposal. This option is disabled by default to reduce the amount of information displayed in the results.

These criteria can be modified.

To use distances, locations must be geolocated in the GEDCOM file exported by your application.

Remarque
It is possible to modify the value proposed when the window opens in the options(Cf. options). These choices remain modifiable while the search is in use
